Honor today officially launched the MagicV3 Dual Satellite Edition phone, which supports "Beidou satellite + TianTong satellite" dual satellite communication, becoming the first Android phone to support dual satellite communication. Honor's official poster shows "The first Android phone to support dual satellite communication," with a starting price of 11199 yuan for the 16GB+1TB version. It is now officially available for purchase.
The Honor MagicV3 Dual Satellite Edition supports two satellite communication methods: "TianTong satellite communication system" and "Beidou-3 short message." In addition to supporting two-way calls provided by TianTong satellite, the phone also supports two-way free text editing based on the new generation of Beidou satellite communication technology, sending up to 20 Chinese characters and receiving up to 6 Chinese characters in reply. Compared to the earlier Beidou satellite communication function that only supports preset template text information replies, this function is more flexible and free.
The Honor MagicV3 Dual Satellite Edition has made innovative breakthroughs in satellite communication. It is the first to integrate TianTong & Beidou satellite communication, customizing a miniaturized satellite baseband to accommodate two sets of transceiver systems within the limited space of the phone. Additionally, it has achieved the industry's first satellite call initiation feature even with 5% remaining battery, providing users with a more convenient satellite communication experience.
In addition to satellite communication capabilities, the Honor MagicV3 Dual Satellite Edition maintains flagship configuration in other aspects. It is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the first to use the 5150mAh third-generation Qinghai Lake battery, supporting 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. In terms of appearance design, the phone adopts a dome octagonal design with a folded thickness of 9.2mm, an unfolded thickness of 4.35mm, and a weight of approximately 226g.
The launch of the Honor MagicV3 Dual Satellite Edition marks a significant step for Android phones in the field of satellite communication. It provides users with more powerful communication capabilities and offers new directions for future phone development.
