On October 16th, SpaceX, the American aerospace manufacturer and space transportation services company, achieved a momentous feat by completing four rocket launches across three US states within just 48 hours, signifying a significant step forward for future space exploration. The first launch took place on Sunday, with the Starship rocket blasting off from the southern tip of Texas. The Super Heavy booster returned to the launch pad, with the launch tower's robotic arm successfully catching the 60-meter-tall first stage, a truly remarkable achievement. Elon Musk, SpaceX CEO, declared this a "huge step towards a multi-planetary species." The upper stage Starship continued its journey around Earth, reaching a maximum altitude exceeding 130 miles (209 kilometers) before finally splashing down in the Indian Ocean, further solidifying SpaceX's accomplishment. Starship is the most powerful rocket ever built by humanity, boasting 33 methane-fueled engines on the first stage alone.

The following day, a NASA spacecraft launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida, embarking on a mission to Jupiter and its moon Europa. The Europa Clipper probe will delve deep into Europa's icy shell, investigating whether conditions there could support life.

Later on Tuesday, SpaceX launched two more Falcon 9 rockets, one from Florida and the other from California, both carrying dozens of Starlink satellites into orbit. The first launch of the day at Cape Canaveral, Florida, marked SpaceX's 100th launch of the year with two and a half months left to go in 2024.
