IT Home reported on October 30th that Microsoft Xbox has officially implemented a new policy from November 17th, which will prohibit users from using unauthorized accessories such as handles, headphones, converters, etc., according to Windows Central.

Some users who use unauthorized accessories have received error message 0x82d60002 on their Xbox, prompting them to "use unauthorized accessories that will affect your gaming experience and will be blocked on November 12, 2023." Guide them to the Xbox official website to view authorized accessories.

Some users have reported that the "cheap version" third-party controller they purchased is no longer usable on Xbox consoles.

IT Home has noticed that some brands that produce third-party game accessories, such as BrookGaming, have already felt the pressure of this change. They released a statement on X stating that some of their products have malfunctioned on Xbox and promising that their engineering team is working hard to find a solution.

It should be pointed out that third-party accessory products that have been officially verified will not be affected by this policy, such as TurtleBeach, LucidSound, Razer, and other brands commonly listed on our "Best Xbox Earphones" and "Best Xbox Handles" lists. It is currently unclear whether this policy will affect XIM accessories that can simulate mouse and keyboard input.
