On May 24th, IT Home reported that Microsoft brought good news to users of Edge browser at the 2023 Build Conference. The company announced a new design for the browser, including several visual changes such as the popular Mica material, rounded labels, content containers, and improved animation effects.

Microsoft stated that the updated design inspiration comes from user feedback and the company's desire to create a beautiful and easy-to-use browsing experience. Therefore, Microsoft Edge now uses Mica material in its toolbars, tab bars, sidebars, and other parts.

In addition, the company has introduced rounded corners for labels separated from the address bar, making the toolbar, address bar, and label bar more clearly distinguishable. Finally, the profile button has been placed in a new position - in the upper left corner, making it easier for users to access controls and settings related to their profile.

IT Home has noticed that the new version of Edge Browser is not just a visual change, but Microsoft has also brought new features to the Progressive Web Application (PWA) supported by Edge Browser. The PWA released in the Microsoft store will support the PaymentRequest API, allowing for querying digital product details, viewing existing purchases, checking purchase history, and processing payment processes between the Microsoft store and users. In addition, Microsoft has made it easier for developers to optimize their progressive web applications to adapt to the sidebar of Edge browsers. According to the company, it only takes a few lines of code to make a PWA run in the Edge sidebar.
