The report is based on the data information of 67 urban areas under 10 provincial administrative units in the western region of Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia from 2019 to 2021 in the direction of digital innovation. It is generated using the "Gulwei Data" index and entropy weight method comprehensive algorithm, combined with a large amount of literature information, and has high accuracy and authority.

The core indicator of the report's content, the "Digital Innovation Competitiveness Evaluation Index," mainly revolves around four dimensions: digital innovation ontology, digital innovation environment, digital innovation facilities, and digital innovation output, including per capita GDP, research funding, invention patents and papers, telecommunications business volume, number of high-tech enterprises, number of university students, and number of information technology practitioners. The evaluation system is comprehensively obtained through each data analysis.

The report shows that the overall digital innovation competitiveness index in western China has increased from 4.893 in 2019 to 4.979 in 2021, with an average annual growth rate of 0.87%. Among the provincial-level rankings, Chongqing, Sichuan, Shaanxi and other places have higher digital innovation competitiveness, maintaining the top three in the three-year digital innovation competitiveness index ranking.
