On June 12, IT House reported that Apple released the highly anticipated VisionPro headworn device at its annual WWDC event last week. This device is equipped with powerful hardware and runs VisionOS system. It is an AR device designed for developers, Content creation and professionals. However, the price of this device is as high as $3500 (IT Home note: currently about 24955 RMB), which is clearly difficult for ordinary consumers to accept. However, the latest news suggests that Apple is developing a lower end version of VisionPro that is cheaper and more suitable for the mass market, and will make compromises in certain aspects.

According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple is developing a low-end version of VisionPro, which may be called "Apple Vision" or "Apple VisionOne". This device will differ from the high-end version in terms of processor, display screen, and sensors to reduce costs. Gurman pointed out that Apple initially expected to sell less than one million high-end versions of VisionPro, but this number may further shrink due to a decline in consumer purchasing power.

It is currently unclear when Apple plans to launch the low-end version of VisionPro and what specific compromises it will make. Gulman believes that the low-end version of VisionPro will use a slower processor. If compared to the recently released high-end version, the low-end version may be equipped with an M1 chip. But if Apple uses the M3 chip when launching the second generation VisionPro, the low-end version may use the M2 chip, while the current high-end version of VisionPro uses both the M2 and R1 chips. In addition to the processor, Gulman also believes that the low-end version of VisionPro will use a lower resolution display screen. Apple may choose HD resolution and improve image quality by optimizing pixels. The high-end version of VisionPro uses a dual 4K resolution microOLED display screen, which is also one of the most expensive components. In addition, Apple may also reduce the number of sensors and further reduce costs. For example, Apple may use regular cameras instead of 3D cameras, and use lower grade speakers instead of spatial audio speakers. Through these measures, as well as optimizing production processes and economies of scale, the price of low-end versions may be reduced by "a few hundred dollars".

Although there are differences in hardware between the two devices, they both provide the same VisionOS experience, and this product line strategy is similar to the difference between Apple's iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro.
