IT Home reported on October 30th that OpenAI is currently launching a new beta feature for ChatGPTPlus members. According to user feedback, this update includes the ability to upload and process files, as well as multimodal support. This means that users do not need to choose a mode like BrowsewithBing from the GPT-4 drop-down menu, but rather automatically guess what they want to do based on the context.
These new features allow ChatGPTPlus members to also have some of the office functions provided by the ChatGPTEnterprise program. It is reported that after the file is passed to ChatGPT, it takes a few seconds to digest the file, and then it can process the file, such as summarizing the data according to prompts, answering questions, or generating data visualization.
IT Home has noticed that ChatGPT's new features are not limited to processing text files. On Threads, a user posted a screenshot of a conversation and uploaded a picture of a water dolphin. ChatGPT can create a Pixar style image based on it through DALL-E3. Then they uploaded another image, this time a twisted skateboard, and asked ChatGPT to insert it into the above image. ChatGPT also successfully achieved this, and I don't know why they even put a hat on the water dolphin.
