IT Home reported on May 25th that Samsung had previously cancelled the Galaxy Note series of phones, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra launched in February this year has a shadow of the Galaxy Note series. Samsung is now reminding Galaxy Note users through a blog post that they can upgrade to the Galaxy S23 Ultra and acknowledging that the latest Ultra model is essentially the "spiritual successor" of the Galaxy Note series.
In a blog article on a Malaysian portal, Samsung stated that "the Galaxy Note series has been serving you for many years" and invited customers looking for "valuable successors" to consider upgrading to the 2023 high-end Galaxy S flagship product. "You will find [successors] in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series is the last SPen device with the Note name, released in August 2020. It is equipped with Android 10 and has received an Android 13 update, but it does not comply with Samsung's new four-year upgrade policy and will not be able to upgrade to Android 14.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra can be seen as a Galaxy Note with different label attributes, with a square shape similar to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, a slightly curved display screen, and embedded SPen, including all iconic productivity applications.
In Malaysia, Samsung offers discounts of RM500 (IT Home note: approximately RMB 765) and RM1000 (approximately RMB 1531) for the 512GB and 1TB models of the Galaxy S23 Ultra phone.
