IT Home reported on October 20th that Microsoft announced the launch of the SecurityCopilot service in March this year to meet the computer security needs of enterprises and organizations. Microsoft released a press release today, stating that it has launched a preemptive experience program and invited some companies to participate in the testing.

Microsoft shared in a press release the achievements of early enterprises after adopting SecurityCopilot:

After introducing SecurityCopilot, our customers can handle complex queries based on natural language problems and summarize security events, saving up to 40% of time on core security operation tasks. SecurityCopilot can provide professional knowledge content, save their time, provide important content assurance for IT administrators, effectively improve the skills of security teams, and enable them to focus on the most influential projects.

IT Home previously reported that the generative AI function of SecurityCopilot is designed to perform a variety of different tasks. It can create a quick summary of security events and help directly respond to these events through Microsoft 365Defender.

The core technology of SecurityCopilot is OpenAI's GPT-4 generative artificial intelligence and Microsoft's own security specific model. SecurityCopilot looks like a simple dialog box, just like other chat robots. You can ask 'What are the security incidents in my company?' and it will give you a summary. But behind the scenes, it utilizes Microsoft's daily collection of 65 trillion signals, as well as security expertise, to enable security professionals to track threats.

The design purpose of SecurityCopilot is to assist rather than replace the work of security analysts, and it also includes a sticky note board feature that allows colleagues to collaborate and share information. Security professionals can use SecurityCopilot to conduct incident investigations or quickly summarize incidents and assist in reporting.

SecurityCopilot accepts natural language input, so security professionals can ask for a summary of a specific vulnerability, input files, URLs, or code fragments for analysis, or obtain event and alert information from other security tools. All questions and answers will be saved, so investigators can have complete audit records.
