1. Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard has been approved by regulatory authorities, why is this $65 billion deal so important?

Nadella: Indeed, the price for this acquisition is very high, but we are very excited about it. For us, some things can even be traced back to the beginning of the company, and games are one of them. When it comes to Microsoft, people may think of developer tools, proprietary software, and games. These are three things we have been doing since the beginning.

So, for us, games are an area where we believe we can truly contribute to the consumer market. If you observe carefully, you will find that people's time spent on games is increasing, while Generation Z will spend more time on games. The production and dissemination methods of games are undergoing fundamental changes. This is true for mobile phones, gaming consoles, personal computers, and even cloud computing.

Given this, we look forward to doubling our efforts as both game producers and publishers. Now, we will become one of the largest game publishers and also a company that builds platforms for games.

2. What do you think is Microsoft's greatest potential?

Nadella: For me, our biggest opportunity is artificial intelligence (AI). Just as cloud computing has changed all software categories, we believe that artificial intelligence is such a transformative transformation. Whether it's search or our Office software suite, there will be significant changes.

The way we create documents and spreadsheets or consumer information is undergoing fundamental changes. Therefore, the Copilot concept we have introduced will truly have a revolutionary impact in driving productivity improvement and communication. The same goes for software development. In fact, human work, whether frontline or knowledge work, can be enhanced through artificial intelligence Copilot, which will be the biggest transformation.

What do you think is the biggest risk Microsoft faces? What are you most afraid of?

Nadella: I've been looking for two things. In the field of technology, there is no so-called franchise value. I have gone through four major transformations: first, the dominance of personal computers and Windows, then the rapid development of network, mobile, and cloud computing, and now artificial intelligence. I am very concerned about fundamentally changing all categories of technological changes.

If you cannot adapt to new technological changes, you may lose everything. The technological transformation is one aspect. Another is the transformation of business models, and you cannot expect future business models to be exactly the same as past ones. Cloud computing is a great example. We have a great server business model, and cloud computing is completely disruptive. I think this is something to pay attention to. (Small)
