On October 27th, the Xiaomi Pengpai OS and Xiaomi 14 Series New Product Launch Conference was held in Beijing. Lei Jun, founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, announced that Xiaomi's strategy has been officially upgraded to a "full ecosystem of people, cars, and homes", and has released six new AIoT products, including Xiaomi's surging OS operating system, digital high-end flagship Xiaomi 14 series, and XiaomiWatchS3 and Xiaomi TV SPro85.

Lei Jun stated that in the past few years, Xiaomi has been breaking through cognition, changing growth, and today will usher in a leap forward moment. The new strategy released by Xiaomi is "full ecosystem of people, cars, and homes", which is people-centered and organically integrates the "full ecosystem of people, cars, and homes". The key to undertaking the new strategy is Xiaomi's surging OS.

It is reported that after 13 years of exploration and 7 years of research and development, Xiaomi Pengpai OS has participated in more than 5000 engineers to carry out system bottom level reconstruction and provide a public infrastructure for future billions of devices and billions of connections to connect everything. The domestic version of Xiaomi Pengpai OS will be launched in batches starting from December 2023, including six categories: mobile phones, tablets, televisions, and cameras.


The digital high-end flagship Xiaomi 14 series is fully benchmarking against Apple. It is the first to launch the third-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform in the entire series, using the latest Leica Summilux lenses and paired with its own brand image sensor Light and Shadow Hunter. It is the first in the industry to land an AI side model. The Xiaomi 14Pro brings the ultimate screen solution that has been explored for 8 years, with a full range of deep and micro curved screens, and innovative use of Xiaomi Longjing glass.

It is reported that Xiaomi 14 comes in four colors: black, white, rock blue, and snow mountain pink, and offers multiple memory versions, priced from 3999 yuan. The Xiaomi 14Pro comes in four color options: rock blue, white, black, and titanium special edition, priced from 4999 yuan. Starting from October 26th, reservations will be made through official channels such as Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Home, Xiaomi Tmall's official flagship store, and Xiaomi JD's flagship store. It will be officially available for sale at 8pm on October 31st.

In terms of AIoT products, the XiaomiWatchS3 starts at 799 yuan, and the Xiaomi wrist electrocardiogram and blood pressure recorder starts at 1999 yuan. The first selling price of Xiaomi TV SPro85 is 7999 yuan, the first selling price of Mijia refrigerator cross 521L is 2999 yuan, the first selling price of Mijia washing machine direct drive drum 10kg is 1999 yuan, and the first selling price of three Mijia central air conditioning duct units is 5999 yuan. Xiaomi Pengpai OS: Developed over 7 years

Lei Jun stated that the reason why Xiaomi Pengpai OS chose to be called Pengpai is to freely flow, gather the power of everyone, and connect the vast intelligent world.

Since the establishment of MIUI by Xiaomi in 2010, Xiaomi Pengpai OS has been exploring for thirteen years and has been developing for seven years.

At the beginning of 2022, Xiaomi unified the software architecture of four systems: MIUI, Vela, Mina, and Car OS, and since then, the underlying operating system of Xiaomi has been merged. After being polished by a research and development team of over 5000 people, Xiaomi's surging OS emerged, integrating over 200 categories and capable of connecting 820 million devices.

Xiaomi Pengpai OS is an operating system that focuses on people and creates a "full ecosystem of people, cars, and homes". It has undergone fundamental system refactoring and has five highlights in terms of architecture and functionality:

One is low-level refactoring. Integrate the self-developed Vela system kernel with the deeply modified Linux system kernel to enable every device to perform at its best.

The second is cross end intelligent connection. Xiaomi Pengpai OS self-developed cross end interconnection framework HyperConnect, allowing all devices to connect to a unified protocol and communicate in real-time.

The third is active intelligence. HyperMind is the thinking center of Xiaomi's entire device, turning over 820 million devices in over 200 categories of Xiaomi's ecosystem into tentacles for perceiving the world. It comprehensively utilizes the four perceptual abilities of environment, vision, hearing, and behavior, learns the habits and preferences of different users, and actively executes them after learning.

The fourth is global security. Xiaomi 14 Series: Comprehensive benchmarking of iPhone15Pro

Xiaomi 14 has undergone a comprehensive leapfrog upgrade, benchmarking against the iPhone 15 Pro.

In terms of performance, Xiaomi 14 launched the third-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform globally, which improved CPU performance by 32%, reduced power consumption by 34%, improved GPU performance by 34%, and reduced power consumption by 38% compared to the previous generation. Adopting a circular cold pump heat dissipation system, the heat dissipation capacity is increased by three times. Through deep integration with Xiaomi Pengpai OS, Xiaomi 14 is comprehensively leading in multiple indicators such as application installation speed, continuous startup application speed, information flow refreshing flow smoothness, and compliance with complex scene heating.

In addition to having the Xiaomi 14 experience, the Xiaomi 14Pro continues to make breakthroughs in multiple core areas.

In terms of screen, the Xiaomi 14Pro innovatively adopts a full depth micro curved screen, achieving continuous and the same bending radius on all four sides and corners, providing both the visual enjoyment of a straight screen and the smooth feel of a curved screen. It is reported that this screen was independently designed by Xiaomi and pre developed two years in advance. Compared to traditional screens, it has invested 18 times in research and development costs, and has applied for over 130 patents.

In terms of materials, Xiaomi 14Pro innovatively adopts Xiaomi Longjing glass, which improves its anti drop performance by 10 times compared to imported accessories. In terms of imaging, Xiaomi 14Pro has introduced infinitely variable aperture for the first time, which can freely adjust the aperture value in the range of F/1.42~F/4.0, automatically adapting to light like a pupil. Lei Jun stated that Xiaomi's strategic goal for the next decade (2020-2030) is to continue investing in underlying core technologies and strive to become a new generation global leader in hard core technology. Xiaomi, who has reached a critical 'leapfrog moment', will see more leading technologies emerge in the future.

It is reported that Xiaomi's R&D investment in 2022 will be 16.2 billion yuan, equivalent to 0.53% of the total national R&D investment. Xiaomi's total R&D investment in 2023 will exceed 20 billion yuan. As of now, Xiaomi Technology has entered 12 technological fields, including 5G mobile communication technology, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. Based on intelligent manufacturing, it has entered as many as 99 sub fields such as robotics, unmanned factories, and intelligent electric vehicles.
