On May 16th, IT Home reported that third-party supplier CaptureIntegration announced that Hasu has issued an official notice announcing the official cessation of production of all HSystem products. All products are now out of stock and Hasu will no longer accept orders for any H-series products.

If the news is true, it will mean that Pentax and Ricoh have become the largest remaining brands in the current digital SLR market.

The third party supplier said, "The H system is still very strong, so many studios are still using it today. However, it is time to consider alternatives. Today we cannot even order new battery grip." It is said that future maintenance may take longer and will be more difficult.

On this path, many professional photographers have switched to using non reflective cameras (including the Hasselblad X2D), leaving DSLR enthusiasts with no choice. As far as IT Home knows, the last time Hassou launched the H system was the 2016 H6D series.

Except for Hassou, Canon announced the EOS-1DXMarkIII as the ultimate flagship DSLR in 2021, although it will continue to produce the current model for the time being. Last July, there was a report stating that Nikon would adopt a similar approach, but later Nikon denied the report, although it was not clear that a new DSLR model would be launched.

Looking back at history, Hasu launched the AF645 system produced by Fuji in Japan in 2002, which caused a sensation upon its debut. Because this is a Hasselblad system manufactured outside Sweden and equipped with non Zeiss autofocus lenses, conservatives and hardliners once mocked it to the forefront and claimed that this would be the end of Hasselblad.

But as the user experience revealed that Fuji Glass, which was both balanced, synchronous, and durable, surprisingly worked well, it was a groundbreaking field. As a result, this model quickly occupied the high-end market, which also meant that Hasu's project, which cost 35 million US dollars (IT Home note: currently about 244 million RMB), ultimately achieved success.
