Microsoft Announces New Win11 Features: taskbar Unmerge, Native RGB Light Control, etc

Microsoft said that this new setting allows users to stay focused, no longer need to remove the time and date when recording the screen, and can also make the taskbar simpler. This feature appeared in the Windows 11 preview a few months ago and has now been officially confirmed by Microsoft.

Windows 11 also adds a new method to terminate running applications. You just need to right-click its icon on the taskbar without calling the task manager. This convenient feature has also been announced in the recent Windows 11 preview and is expected to be pushed to all users soon.

IT Home noticed that in addition to the taskbar, Microsoft has also added more compression formats that are natively supported for Windows 11, allowing users to open tar, 7-zip, rar, gz and other files. In addition, Windows 11 users will also enjoy higher performance when compressing files.

In terms of native support, another change that is about to eliminate the demand for third-party applications to a certain extent is the addition of RGB lighting control. Microsoft is developing a dedicated settings section for managing accessories with backlight and RGB lighting, such as keyboards, mice, etc. Windows Dynamic Lighting will allow users to customize RGB lights from the settings application without the need for third-party developer programs. Microsoft stated that Windows Dynamic Lighting will launch a beta version to users, developers, and hardware partners this month.

Finally, as one of the applications with tabs in the system, Windows Terminal will receive a "drag out" function for tags, allowing users to move tags between different windows for better management.
