Realme Neo Series Goes Independent, Flagship Neo7 Gaming Smartphone Imminent: Performance, Battery Life, and AI Receive Major Upgrades
Realme officially announced today that its Neo series will operate independently, with the first product in the series, the Realme Neo7, launching next month. The company claims the new phone will "deliver superior performance, a leading gaming experience, and trendy technological design, creating a gaming flagship that truly understands young people." Realme Vice President Xu Qi further revealed that in addition to the mid-range gaming flagship Neo series, the high-end performance flagship GT series is also fully established. Xu Qi's Weibo hints suggest the Realme Neo7 will adopt a dual-engine performance solution to address power consumption challenges under high-performance demands, ensuring stable long-term operation.
Renowned digital blogger @DigitalChatStation was the first to reveal the Realme Neo7's benchmark scores, generating further anticipation for the upcoming phone. Equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, the Realme Neo7 achieved over 2.4 million points in the AnTuTu V10.3.8 benchmark test, directly breaking the performance record for mid-range phones and showcasing its powerful processing capabilities.
The Dimensity 9300+ processor, an upgrade from the Dimensity 9300, boasts a boosted Cortex-X4 super-core frequency of 3.4GHz (compared to 3.25GHz in the Dimensity 9300), significantly improving CPU computing speed. The four large cores remain at 2.0GHz Cortex-A720, maintaining overall performance balance. Furthermore, the Dimensity 9300+ supports Dimensity AILoRA Fusion 2.0 technology, pioneering AI predictive decoding acceleration on mobile devices. This translates to stronger performance output and a more efficient, personalized generative AI experience, offering users a more intelligent user experience.
To optimize user experience, the Realme Neo7 will come pre-installed with the brand new Realme UI 6.0 official version. This system has undergone comprehensive architectural optimization, not only improving perceived speed but also enhancing underlying performance scheduling to ensure smooth and interruptible animation effects. It efficiently utilizes hardware resources to minimize system lag and stutter. Realme UI 6.0 also introduces innovative features like the Fluid Cloud 2.0 centralized capsule design and more integrated application services, further enhancing usability and practicality.
Among these, the upgraded AI Teleport 2.0 feature is particularly noteworthy. It supports one-drag-to-access, image classification recognition, and drag-and-drop functionality for WeChat documents and cards, significantly improving user convenience. Furthermore, the file transfer function seamlessly integrates with iPhones, enhancing cross-device usability and facilitating easy sharing and transfer of files between devices. In terms of multitasking, Realme UI 6.0's split-screen mode allows users to adjust window size by dragging the divider and supports two floating windows simultaneously, making multitasking more efficient and convenient, fully meeting users' needs for lightweight multitasking management.
Currently, Realme GT5 Pro and GT6 models have started receiving Realme UI 6.0 system updates (including internal and public beta tests), allowing users to experience the new system's improvements and innovative features in advance.
For reference, the Realme GT Neo6, launched in May this year, had a starting price of 2099. This phone features a 6.78-inch E4 AMOLED display supporting a 27801264 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, boasting a peak brightness of 1600 nits and a local peak brightness of 6000 nits. It supports low-frequency PWM dimming and 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and supports wet-hand touch for a comfortable and clear visual experience.
In terms of imaging, the Realme GT Neo6 has a 32MP front-facing selfie camera and a 50MP main camera + 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens combination on the rear, meeting everyday photography needs. Performance-wise, it features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor coupled with an ice-core three-dimensional cooling system, complemented by the Geek Performance Panel 2.0 and the first-ever AI Burning Mode, supporting native 1.5K ultra-clear game graphics for a smooth gaming experience. Battery-wise, the Realme GT Neo6 boasts a 5500mAh large-capacity battery with 120W fast charging. Officially, it charges to 50% in 10 minutes and promises lasting performance for four years. Additionally, it comes with Dolby Atmos dual speakers, an X-axis linear motor, and IP65 dust and water resistance, making it a well-balanced device. The Realme GT Neo6 also features Realme UI 5.0 for a smooth operating experience.
Overall, the Realme Neo7 will boast comprehensive upgrades and optimizations in performance, battery life, and AI functionality, aiming to deliver a superior user experience. Compared to the GT Neo6, the Neo7 will see significant improvements in processor, battery capacity, system, and AI capabilities. The actual performance and final pricing of the new phone will be revealed at the Realme Neo7 launch event next month.
