AMD has announced the official release of the Radeon RX7900M, which is its fastest mobile GPU to date. The new graphics card is based on the RDNA3 architecture, and the new features can bring incredible gaming and content creation performance to mobile systems. Some games have an average performance of 7% higher than competitors at QHD resolution.
Dell's Alienware brand has launched the latest Alienware 18 laptop family member, equipped with an AMDRezen97945HX processor and Radeon RX7900M graphics card, utilizing AMD's intelligent technology to provide the ultimate 3A solution on mobile platforms. Frank Azor, Chief Architect of AMD Gaming Solutions and Marketing, stated that Alienwarem18R1 is currently the most advanced and powerful AMDAdvantage game book, and both parties are working closely together to provide the best mobile experience.
The Radeon RX7900M has 72 CUs and a total of 4608 stream processors, with an InfinityCache of 64MB and 16GB of GDDR6 graphics memory. The graphics memory has a 256 bit width, a core frequency between 1825MHz and 2090MHz, and a total card power consumption of 180W.
Previously, AMD's RDNA3 architecture GPUs launched on mobile platforms all used Navi33 chips, covering the Radeon RX7700/7600 series products, mainly targeting entry-level and mainstream markets. Navi33 only has a maximum of 32 CUs and a total of 2048 stream processors, which is clearly much lower in specifications than the newly released Radeon RX7900M.
Due to the significant gap between the Radeon RX7900M and Radeon RX7700/7600 series products, at least two more models can be released. AMD should continue to release new graphics cards for mobile platforms to fill the gap in the product line, but it is unclear when it will take.
